This is what happens when you pander to populist clamour amongst your support4ers - you get stupid policies
This was so obvious right from the beginning that this was the case
I know it is a oft trotted out statement, but you sometimes have to wonder whether all the austerity measures, such as cutting Quangos, we currently have could be reduced if all the piss poor management in other parts of government were sorted out.

i've done a little digging, and can't find anything, but then i'm rubbish at this sort of thing.

The demonisation of Quangos portrayed them as exactly that, and a cross-party commitee now concludes that the claimed savings were largely political puffery.
What other bits of "piss poor management" have you got in mind?
