Ok then cool - I'll check it out tomorrow night and maybe Monday I'll ride in. Perhaps Elf can take me on some urban expeditions too.
If you do take your bike head to the far east end of the Royal Albert Dock. and look west while sat on the bridge (Woolwich Ferry Rd) watching the planes come into land at City airport from there is pretty good.
How long you down? thought it was one night a week!
It's tomorrow night then full time for the next six or seven weeks.
Would love to take in some galleries and sights if they are still available after work 🙂
Galleries tend to close 5-6ish, but some have late openings once a week.
Pity you're not here in Summer really.
You're telling me!
Having said that, you have to be somewhere in the winter don't you?
EDIT: unless you are an arctic tern.
Do I?
Yes.
Yeah hope to be hibernating in Spain
Parks near me shut at 4 pm My Dogs well peeved off
Need more than a weekend Grantway...
Don't worry Mol; stick with me you'll be ok. 😀

Elf.. I'll mail you my number.. I'll have to get back to my hotel to dump stuff though - that's Limehouse. Might be more like 6.30 or 7 depending on work.
Right, we are in Greenwich, will be in the Greenwich Union from 7.30 ish.
I worry for them both......
I'm even going to Landan tomorrow for the weekend. I wonder what I'll do there.

most people queue for an hour for Madame Tussaud's then have a meal at Garfunkels, the really adventurous go to covent garden and look at people painted white standing very still.
Do they MrSmith? Well I never. Such amazing insight you have....
Made the mistake of assuming Mol was into beer. You live and learn... 😳
On the plus side; right enjoyable evening, Mol's a top geezer, and I discovered the wonder that is Meantime Cranberry Stout. 😯
Amazing stuff. Only available for November, so get yerselves down there quick! 😀
Do they MrSmith?
yes. i read it on the internet somewhere.
Right, it must be true then...
Have you ever had Cranberry Stout?

Dam had seen this post at 4-30 and was doing prep work in New Crane Wharf Wapping
So i went past your hotel hopping to see if you was meeting there.
Hope it all went well and your down again soon so hook up then for a meet.
Safe Journey back
Have you ever had Cranberry Stout?
no. i did shoot all the meantime beers for them and had a couple of cases to drink but that wasn't brewed then. i like the ipa's but current favourite tipple is export india porter from here:http://thekernelbrewery.com/
they are in Bermondsey and open on saturdays.
Thanks grantway, I'll be down next week. I'm on assignment here for what, 9 weeks or so, I'm sure we'll meet again some time.
By the way Elf is also a top geezer in case you didn't know, but he does sound a bit like a cockney old man on the phone 🙂
😆
Occasionally I'll hear a recording of myself speaking, and it's suprising just how different I sound from the current Yute Dem in this area.
Must be my posh upbringing. 😀
Next time...
Sickly MrBlond 🙁
Hope you get well soon MrBlond.
Well Mol's going to be down here for a few weeks from next week, so I think a London Urban Pootle is in order. And there will be other drinking opportunities, possibly even non-alcoholic ones*. 😳
(*I din't realise Mol don't drink alcohol, and selfishly decided on a pub with beer what I like rather than actually asking him what he wanted to do)
Can't get over that Cranberry Stout. I mean, Cranberry Stout??? It sounds so wrong yet tastes so right...
Ha, the Union's great.
Up for an urban pootle - do I need a 'fixey' and rapha?
Elf, it's not selfish - if you like beer then we go where the beer is good, doesn't make any difference to me.
Urban pootle - I am determined to bring my bike one way or the other.
<drinks lemsip, dusts off track bike, dons Rapha jacket>
do I need a 'fixey' and rapha?
Don't care what you wear, but no fixies, sorry. 😐
Mol; I just felt guilty about you not being able to enjoy the lovely, lovely beer what is on offer there. There's me, thinking 'ooh I'll take the foreigner to a right nice pub with fantastic beer then he can rave on STW about how good it was', but alas, to no avail. 🙁
Oh whell...
Well, I survived it.
Hyde park, chez Liz, Victoria Embankment, then I lost the river after Blackfriars Bridge cos I didn't think I could go under it. So navigated via the Gherkin til I got to the City then a few narrow confusing streets, the Tower, then I ended up on The Highway instead of the backstreet I was aiming for. Bit busy, but it got me to Narrow St in Limehouse which got me here. Took 1h10 to leave the train, cycle over, lock up, shower and change, as opposed to 40 mins last time including queueing for a ticket.
Btw if you are the Aussie chap on the Bianchi who showed me how to get from Hyde Park Corner to the river - thanks! That was a great help.
You'll suss it in time (And with my help), Mol.
Thanks.. TfL had a reasonable route on their website but there was no way I could have followed it without a map board.
