Soooo, thought I'd get a quick blast round hamsterly yesterday before work (back shift).
Gets there about 10am and sets off to do the red route, hour and half in just on the last bend of nitrous and here the dreaded sound of air quickley escaping from rear tyre.
Not to worry, at least I got to the bottom and I've got the gear to fix flat.
Fixes flat, tyre back on goes to inflate and this happens:

Still not to worry only a couple of miles from car, nice day, 20 min walk no problem....
But I'm not on the road I thought I was! After an hour and half of walking around the forest I end up 10 yds from where I started! Doh!
New shoes on and still got 2 miles back to car when I find the road I thought I was on in the first place!
Get back to car about 2pm take shoes off to be greeted with this

Ouch!
45min drive home and then got 10 mins before I leave for work where I spent the next 8 hours on my feet, then home to bed.
Not the best day I've had !
I had that pump: it broke in exactly the same place whilst stopping & helping somebody I didn't know fix a puncture...thanks karma 😐
ahhh yes tis a karma moment, bad days like this happen to build character, encourage you to buy more expensive solid parts and to make you recognise the good days. c'est la vie. count blessings it wasnt hassing down with rain/sleet or snow and you were close enough to the car to actually get back without calling back up... actually you had a great day!

Got google maps on phone but didn't have a signal, so basically showed me where I was on a piece of graph paper!
About 2mins after i started walking two lads passed me, could have asked if they had a pump, but I thought, no, won't interrupt their ride it's only a couple if miles!

Yup, data coverage is not what advocates of streaming would have you believe. I was in Melksham today trying to locate an engineering company, and all I got was O2's GPRS network, with no data.
Best option is any app that allows downloading of OS map tiles.
Viewranger is brilliant, and UK Map is very good; it doesn't allow tracks to be recorded, but it has 1:25k and 1:10k free map tiles available from OS, and is damned handy.
At least I wasn't in the outback!
i've had similar and try to carry two pumps now.
