Daughter has dropped her Nexus 7 and cracked the screen.
Any recommendations on where to get it repaired or if it's DIYable?
I used these guys for an OEM replacement back for my Nexus 4.
and a youtube vid for method.
They also sell handy tools for opening up devices very inexpensively.

Make sure it's not just the digitizer that's broken, they're only £15.
How can I tell if it's just the digitiser?
And can the it be easily separated from the screen?
Separating the digitiser and LCD isn't an easy job anyway, looks fiddly and time consuming.
As for changing the screen I did one for my daughter with a replacement I bought off eBay and used a YouTube guide, very straight forward. The only fiddly part is getting the old screen out of the bezel. Make sure you heat the glue up well with a hair dryer or you'll be picking tiny pieces of shattered glass out o the glue.
If it's the screen, the picture will be distorted, if the picture is fine and it looks like broken glass, it's probably the digitizer.
Separating the digitiser and LCD really isn't that difficult.

Looking at the price of a screen in Stoner's link I might sell the broken Nexus on Ebay and buy another tablet.
