Goes nearly as fast as it depreciates.

Define sporting?

Is that little space increase over a decent hatch - say, 159

Or fast - say, +2.0 rep-mobile estate

Maybe have a look at an older 5 series, big petrol's are reasonable and not so bad on fuel (I've a 535i which will happily do 25mpg).

The saab is a bargain, but I can't get past the Dame Edna glasses. Only sporty in a straight line too. Some of the Japanese options are quite good. Masda 6?

at the moment we drive a vectra sri diesel 150bhp which is reasonably fast but id still like somthing a bit quicker.

we went on a caravan holiday about 4 weeks ago and atruggled to get everything we needed for us an 2 young lads in the car.

now we are looking at getting a dog hence the need for the space increase.

If you are struggling for space with a Vectra, I wouldn't be looking at anything other than a proper estate car, not a 159.

You can get a lot in/on a Vectra:

Subaru Forester - great cars, go from sporty to the *very* sporty 2.5 turbo model.

Subaru Forester 2.5XT. I've had one for 4 years and it's been brilliant. As it happens it's up for sale as I'm getting a company car. It's the auto model, leather, towbar for the bike rack, roofrails, heated seats. FSSH, 77000 miles, 56 reg.

Let me know if your interested. I was looking for around £6200.

Cheers

Steve

Or Alfa 159, very, very pretty!

Drive a VRS and see if you care it "looks a bit bland"

Whilst there are certainly faster cars, my VRS always raises a smile in a naughty sporty way.
