Contract is up for renewal so what handset should I be looking at. Looking at some thing I can get for about £20 a month. Nothing too fancy but I need to be able to do a bit of web browsing and check my email. Currently got an old Samsung which has been pretty good but is a bit dated now. Not been so impressed with my other halves HTC Wildfire S.

I loved my Windows phone until I realised Bluetooth connectivity to my car was a limiting factor.

Lots of people having Bluetooth and car connectivity issues. Luckily I managed to wriggle out of keeping it and swapped for an iPhone 4S. Lots n here said I should get an IPhone but I didn't want one.

I have to say though, apart from I tunes and the fact that I can only synch music from one computer and can't drag and dip like you can on Android phones, it's ok, it works a treat in my car too.

£23 a month off O2 with unlimited calls and texts and 1gb of tinterweb stuff.

gone from a galaxy S to an iphone 4s, the most striking difference is the build feel. The iphone just feels far better put together and the slider that allows you to put the phone on silent without going through menus is very nice.

Using itunes withe you phone plugged in you can drop the tunes form your folder into your iphone folder. That's how I do it I have music sync switched off.

Sony Xperia T on Three looks like a fairly good deal for £23 with plenty of mins, texts and unlimited data.

I have been looking for a new contract for a while and posted on here the other day asking about buymobilephones.net - have a look at my started posts...

Reviews seem to be either 1 star or 5 star, but erring towards good more than bad. They have some really good deals on there...worth consideration.

I bought a nexus 4 for £240 and use it on giffgaff for £10/month. That works out at £20/month over 24 months but its much more flexible than a contract.

Galaxy S3 Mini for £13.75 with 750Mb data, 600min and unlimited text on O2 is what I've just gone for.

Offer is via Mobiles.co.uk and is a redemption offer, but you can submit PDF versions of your bill online so dead easy to remember if you set up a calendar reminder.

As above, the Nexus 4 is on my shortlist.
Thing is, you can get the Galaxy S3 for only a few quid more per month.

Don't get me wrong, for the money the Nexus 4 is a cracking phone, but the Galaxy S3 seems to beat it fairly consistently in all the reviews.

My current shortlist is (all on 3 with 300mins, 5000txts, unltd data);

Sony Xperia T. Lagging behind perhaps, but good enough for my requirements & can be had for £18/mth

Nexus 4. Middle of the pack (as I see it), but 16gb memory may be an issue if used for videos & music. £22/mth

HTC One X or Galaxy s3 - top end options, and about £25/month which is more than I wanted to spend, really.

Need to have a play with these larger phones first and see how they feel. Bit worried they will be too large for me.
Gutted I didn't get the HTC OneS when it was widely available as it seemed to have (for me) the right balance of size & performance.

I'm currently with buymobilephones so should probably give them a call and see what upgrades they are offering. I've been using 3 because they were cheap but their coverage doesn't seem so good so was considering changing. I was with O2 before, does anybody know if you can transfer a number back to a previous provider?

No reason I can see why not. A PAC is a PAC.

Samsung Keystone 2.

Mine was £5 from Tesco. Came with O2 sim but was unlocked.

At least a weeks battery life and is a pleasure to use.

Yep can transfer numbers back. My number's history is something like Vodafone > Orange > O2 > T-Mobile > Vodafone.

I had a Virgin Nokia Lumia 620 a couple of weeks back, on £15 a month.
I took it back under their 14 day gaurantee terms, didn't mind the phone, it was quite nice, but Windows 8 just doesnt tickle my tickly bits. Back to my Sony Experia Android for now.......

I have a nexus 4 and galaxy s3. The s3 is alright and all that, and sd card support is nice if you need that much memory, but the nexus 4 is a nicer phone. Lots of things right about it, and no samsung overlay on top of android.

It isn't 4g if that makes a difference, but other than that i really like it.

It is also pretty much the only android phone that is any good for music apps (like instruments, synthesizers, effects units and the like, for boring technical reasons, although to be honest if you want music production apps iPhone is currently way ahead of android.

For web browsing and email a Windows Phone will suit you down to the earth - slick, fast, and the easiest of all the current phones to use. Not the fastest, nor the widest range of apps, but those that are there are very well implemented.

Went from a Nexus to an HTC 8X and would never go back. Brother bought the Nokia 920; my dad saw both and got himself an 8S, and my mum bought herself one as well! Take some of the criticism of the platform with a grain of salt - it looks naff in screenshots but to use is fantastic.

The camera on the 920 is by far the best one available on a phone today, even compared to the HTC One. This video was shot - entirely - on Nokia 920s.
