We need a new front door to replace an old UPVC unit. I am completely agnostic about uPVC or wood.

I have zero idea about cost so grateful for any rough indication of what I could expect before starting to ring around

Composite in any colour should be 6-7 hundred quid fitted.

Where from wrightyson?

I'm buying my own at £890+£100 for a neighbour to come help me fit who works for national uPVC company. Ours is door and 30cm side panel though.

I had composite 4 panel style in black fitted in 2015 by someone who I know, door was from local windows and doors co. £800-£850* Mine has a square fanlight which might have added a bit to the price.
The same year I had a plain white upvc back door fitted by same bloke and it was £600-£650*
*sorry can't recall exact prices

The boss has been wanting one for a while now and she was quoted something like 1700 for a composite door, think it was one of the big nationals though which were politely told to jog on

Then again ours had lots of fancy glass work so plain would be a lot cheaper.

Last one I bought was 2 years ago so admittedly probably a bit of increase but not massive.
528 inc vat , 2440 x 880 frame with a 400 light at the top. Black front composite, white rear with chrome knocker and handles. Part of a full refit so I was paying 100 quid a sash for fitting no matter what type or size, nice earner on a bathroom window, get your finger out on a bay.
So with increases maybe 650 for the door but still not 900 quid. I maybe blinkered a bit price wise as I do have a lot of contacts.

We paid £850 fitted for a composite, black front white rear glass light over top with chrome hardware, in Leicester.

Check out Value Doors UK. Uninspiring company name but brilliant service.
Don't go uPVC. Get a good solid composite. We paid £1700 for front and back including fanlight and furniture. Ten year guarantee.

£480 inc vat, composite door, frame & window over. I went in to see the guys (local firm) They had a door & frame they produced to the wrong size for someone else and adjusted to fit my measurements with spacers.
