Looking for a new challenge for next year. This year we ran the GR20 in 6 days which was hard work but enjoyable, would like to do something similar next spring and wondering what other good challenges people have done in a similar nature.

If I had the money I'd love to do this: http://hutrunhut.com/

(Just checked, it's in August so not exactly ideal... but it's still worth a look...)

Both look good, the hutrunhut looks great but limited to 12 places?! Bet that is something you could figure out on your own rather than going on an organised thing. Southern upland way looks doable in a week, depending on how stages and accommodation work out.

Probably, I'm assuming the advantage is having someone there to show you where the best trails are, and having food+beer+gear transport organised by someone else. The 12 person limit is due to hut size, although I'm not sure I'd want a much bigger group.

You could always run part of the Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago) in northern Spain, that's pretty much perfect with regularly spaced out hostals and great scenery. Ferry to Santander, then have a rota of drivers to carry the gear on a daily basis.

Himalayan 100 Mile Stage Race
I loved it, my wife did too, she came as a non-runner. I actually proposed to her after the race at the Taj Mahal. So it'll always be a special one for us, I might go back and do it again one day.

Made some great friends who we still see regularly too, despite living 100's of miles apart 5-6 years on. Socially and I run and race with them too.

That and Three Peaks Yacht Race are top of my running stage race list. Bit more difficult to get in on that one though, you need a yacht and crew. Late injury replacements spots can be had though easily that's how I got in the first time. I've done it 3 times now and will be back again. Let me know if your interested in that and I'll pass your name on to a couple of organising committee members I know.
