So, as I am an idiot, I set the fixed IP of our CCTV DVR to 192.168.4.1
I now can't connect to it, and it can't connect to the internet.
Wireshark suggests it's active (repeatedly broadcasting Who has 192.168.1.1 which is the router).
Is there a way of sorting this? Have tried taking a device up to the loft and connecting to it P2P but no joy.
(Why have I got Wireshark? Needed it to get the PPPoE settings out of a Sky router. Yes, I am aware a little knowledge is a dangerous thing)
Can you expand the DHCP pool and subnet mask of your router to cover that range? E.g
192.168.0.1-192.168.255.255
255.255.0.0
My DVR has an IP for its network to the cameras (probably 192.168.10.1) and a different one on my 192.168.0.1 subnet for downloading to the internet. Which one have you reset?
Can you change the router to 192.160.4.1?
Thanks, solved by changing the subnet mask. Have reset it to use DHCP and then bound IP to MAC in my router, which is what I should've done in the first place...
