Hunt for the wilderpeople is a great film, take ten minutes to get into it, brilliant.

unfortunately i also liked californication, which i was totally surprised at because i thought it would be awful.

( i was netflix bingeing recovering from an op and watched everything)

after watching House of Cards which was superb, i know why they didnt vote for Hilary Clinton

After Narcos I got into designated survivor, surprisingly addictive, but gave up on Peaky Blinders.

Also came to say Mindhunter but looks like I've been beaten to it - great minds think a like!

If you prefer a more light-hearted take on crime - think burglary not murder, White Collar is also good for a bit of fun

Whoever mentioned master of none - so true, and a phenomenal soundtrack to go alongside it!

Does Gotham count as a crime drama?

I started watching Salvation on Netflix last night, It's a totally absurd/fantastical/unrealistic/ham acted/infuriating/unbelievable cluster **** of a program but still good fun to watch series. You'll find yourself slack jawed in disbelief at the plot development every few minutes but i kinda like it 😀

You've probably seen it already but I hadn't. Happy Valley.

Even if you think it's pish you can still enjoy it by playing Northern Cliche Bingo while it's on. More tea, fags, rain and cobbles than you could shake a night stick at.

I've also been enjoying Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt this last week. Funny, clever and very silly sitcom.

Wife also made me watch Bojack Horseman. Very, very good but it was too depressing for while I'm ill.

Have a shuftie at Wanted. Aussie crime drama thing. I'm enjoying it and it's always good to see Halifax FP on the telly. The Defenders stuff (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and the Defenders ... in that order apart from delay watching the last series of Daredevil until just before you watch Defenders) is dead good. The Expanse is good too.

Not outright crime but sort of crime mystery is Dirk Gently which I enjoyed.
Maybe Netflix could remake Hitchikers?

POSTED 4 HOURS AGO # REPORT-POST

You mean Sarah Rafferty / Donna? Soooo much better an actor than Rachel! 😉

We got fed up of suits - the script for every episode is virtually the same and the parade of stupid swaggers, awkward walks and verbal one upmanship wore us out.

Timeless is good though.
Rick and Morty, of course.

Does anyone know if Narcos series 3 is any good, or does it fizzle out after the climax of series 2?

Narcos 3 I enjoyed as much as the first 2 and 4 will be ace if it does change location.

I assumed Narcos would be pants without Pablo, but by episode two I had pretty much forgotten about him.

Not seen the film Victoria mentioned yet. Shot in one take and very compelling. Just started season 3 of Line of Duty which is worth a go if you haven't already.

Watched first episode of alias grace last night. I'm so far intrigued, and it's getting unusual to find something my wife and I will both enjoy!

Just started Iron Fist - seems OK so far.

For people with HDR TV's - why on earth do Netflix make their HDR stuff so grainy?

'Bloodline'.

Excellent film-noir style family/crime drama set in steamy South Florida backwaters. The wayward son and brother character is played to perfection by Ben Mendelsohn. I enjoyed 'Ozark' nearly as much for the same reasons.

Bloodline is worth sticking with if you like that kind of thing. Which reminds me I have two seasons to catch up! Hope they are on par with the first.

Someone mentioned the film 'Victoria' ... an excellent piece of film-making and more engrossing because of it's seamlessly natural tempo and plot development. Acting is first-class. Not enough 'grown-up' movies of this calibre IMO. It's like the 'anti-Hollywood pulp' type of film that prompts me to say 'they dont make movies like this anymore!'

Same goes for 'Blue is the Warmest Colour'. Another must-watch. Heartbreaking and raw love-story. Be warned - the sex-scenes are frankly depicted so maybe not one for a first date or at the parents-in-laws 😉

Not crime but The Expanse is ace.

Thanks for the recommendation, just watched the first series, really good.
It really felt like they were in zero g, loved the language used.
Can’t wait to watch the next series.

The trouble with netflix is you get sucked in to watching some utter rubbish. Last week it was Salvation (trust me the time investment won't be rewarded by the ending), the last couple of days I've been off work and I'm watching Reign, which is terrible. Costume drama mixed with teen angst. It's a horrific waste of time, but completely addictive. My daughters would probably like it, bit like The Next Step but in 16th century France.
