Not at all. Yellowjackets is absolutely brilliant. And nothing like any soap opera I’ve had the misfortune to see!
Ah, Unless you mean Yollowjackets was recommended and I watched the wrong thing! Probably was me who recommended Yellowjackets, so no 😊
Not Netflix (but that doesnt seem to be an issue with this thread), but last night watched, and really enjoyed My Son on A-Prime.
James McAvoy on form & wonderful scenery too.
Watched My Son, was quite possibly the most pointless movie i've seen in ages, nothing really happens, lovely scenery, crap movie.
Each to their own eh?
A gritty drama that really drew me in, but there weren't any dragons, spaceships or zombies.
Having now finished S1 of Ted Lasso last night, I'm going to revise my rating to 'good'. The first 5 episodes are brilliant, and I gave it some slack even though the players were sooo stereotypically cheesy and many of their lines (and Ted's) poorly scripted. But the second half of the series indulges in more and more of the latter, tries too hard and becomes quite a strain at times IMO.
Man on Wire, a 2008 documentary about Philipe Petit who wired walked between the World Trade Centre towers.
+1. Watched it a few years ago after a recommendation here. Quite a character and very much worth watching.
Yellowstone is fantastic pulpy TV.
It's such a shame the UK broadcasting of it is sketchy as hell.
I go for Blu-ray or prime for the earlier series.
I will hear nothing bad said about Taylor Sheridan's material.
Season 4 about to drop in the UK on Blu-ray.
I tried to watch the broadcast on 5USA, but the quality was crap, so I used the My5 app and cast it.
The picture quality was good, but then I realised the content wasn't to my taste, Sue-Ellen. 😀
Come to think of it, we're probably the age now the audience for Dallas was back then.. hmm... Still shit though.
I recommend Bo Burnham's Inside. It really captures the essence of the pandemic.
If it's Taylor Sheridan your looking for I've just finished 1883 which is the pre-runner to yellowstone and it's been fantastic. I totally recommend this...Sam Elliot, Tim McGraw his wife Faith Hill and a load of other great supports.
Just watched Vikings Valhalla which follows on from Vikings. An entertaining insight into the Anglo Saxon and Viking history of Britain.
A bit late but we're enjoying The Sinner.
Think someone may have mentioned End of Watch on Prime.
Great LA cop drama from the writer of Training Day, similar territory but a bit less pantomime-y.
Excellent central performances from Jakey G and that one out of Narcos.
Not seen it mentioned, but The Boys Presents Diabolical is worth watching if you liked The Boys and er, like animation. Some are better than others as all have different writers and animators. (Prime Video, obviously)
We are now on season two of Mar del Plastico - murder, mystery intrigue in Spain. I have no idea why as it is absolutely crap, it’s like some line of duty hook, how can a plot be this bad and what will they think of next? It’s like they had a plot line then realised they had thirteen episodes to do so just filled it with random crapola.
very late to the party but finally got into Parks and Recreation, its an absolute scream and a perfect antidote to the world at the moment.
Just found out that Amy Shumer co-produced (the awesome) Russian Doll as well.
Parks and Rec is great. Only thing I've bothered to watch twice. The last series (7?) is mostly missable though
Brilliant show indeed
Just finished watching Fast and Furious 9 on Sky Cinema, oh dear god, how could they make a film so bad, and so long, i know this series has gone from the daft to the sublime, but this one was beyond belief, literally, i mean physics was completely cancelled, none of the extremely large goodie cast die, even though that again defies the laws of physics, common sense and all knowledge that mankind has ever found since the beginning of time.
I know there's another one in the pipeline, but really, this one was actually like someone had made a lampoon movie about the F&F franchise, Vin Diesel is in his 50s now and looks it, i've grown up watching Michelle Rodriguez and she was also looking like she's needing to knock the action flicks to one side, same with the rest of them, christ they even had Mia suddenly become a ninja assassin in this one!
The Adam Project is nice, nostalgic fun for those of us who grew up in the 80s
Yeah #familyfun with extra cheese 😉 I got outvoted when I suggested The Last Kingdom
Enjoyed Our Flag Means Death
I see Netflix has loaded up Taboo,I am not a big Tom Hardy fan but thought he was excellent in this when it was first shown on the Beeb.
Young Sheldon (Big bang theory prequel) is very good
fasthaggis

I do quite like Hardy anyway, but yeah Taboo is/was great. Shame they forgot/couldn't afford to make the final two series...
Just finished binging Vikings: Valhalla. Plays fast and loose with actual history (I don't remember Leif Erikson being renowned as a hairy ninja) but is good fun all the same.
Had to binge it to make space for The Last Kingdom to avoid confusion as they pretty much overlap in timeframe. A couple of episodes in and it's as good as the previous series. A tiny bit more historically accurate than Valhalla (if still liberal with the truth of things) and a bit deeper in terms of characters and their motivations. My favourite of the recent 'fantasy' epic stuff, and still the best treatment of 'magic' I've seen in ages in this genre.
Drive To Survive new series back on now.
Don't watch Formula 1 but absolutely love this. The team managers are the most interesting characters in this sport.
Agreed. Especially Guenther Steiner.
I never watch the races either, so this programme is brilliant for me, worth a passing interest in F1.
According to the cycling podcast the Drive to Survive makers are going to be doing a pro cycling version this year.
Peacemaker starts on Sky on Tuesday, in case you didn’t know.
Throw your dog the invisible bone… (that will get stuck in your head!)

Sounds good. The Least Expected Day (Netflix) I found fascinating. Follows the Movistar pro cycling team. The stuff that goes on that you never normally see, like in the team cars!
If you like that sort of thing check out the De Ronde (Tour of Flanders) series on YouTube. Cracking footage of spectators and team cars and really gets under the skin of the event.
Don't look up
Tinder swindler.... Added bonus the guy looks the spitting image of a mate.
Apple TV, not Netflix, but Severanceis excellent so far (up to ep 5 currently).
New series of “Top Boy” on Netflix. Put your feet up, switch the subtitles on and get your phone ready to translate what “bear” and “fam” mean.

Please tell me he's on Tinder.

It's "bare" cuz, ya get me?
Been doing The Good Detective on Netflix, Korean cop series, pretty good so far.
Watched The Courier last week. An excellent portrayal of the true story of an everyday chap who became involved in some Cold War espionage back in the 60s. Cumberbatch on good form again. Avoid looking up the details of what happened until after you've watched it - one can't begin to imagine how he must have felt throughout.
We enjoyed The Weekend Away - doesn't score massively high on IMDb or Rotten tomatoes though
It’s “bare” cuz, ya get me?
I feel you fam 🔥

Don’t forget some food cuz……
No not “that” food blud
Just noticed the other night that there’s a new season of Der Pass on NOW TV. It’s another riff on The Bridge format - except this time across the Austria - Germany border. New season is quite a good binge, although, as with The Bridge, you’d probably want to have seen Season 1 first for a bit of background.
