12th man ! Wow
Oh my!
I binged watched most of The Chef Show last night.
If you are in the slightest interested in food it's glorious!
Oh my!
Genius.
The feeling of all films I've ever liked as a kid rolled into one.
How good is Unbelievable?
A beautifully paced - procedural crime case pans out across two time frames following the victim(s) of a rape.
It's refreshing to see the attention given on the legal system - as it actually works completely against the victim during the 8 episodes.
Great to see lead Detectives without drink problems too!
Toni Collette is the main name but shares the prominent role with Merritt Wever.
No one mentioned Top Boy?
Canadian rapper to the rescue! If I had the money what would I reboot? Phone shop? Ideal?
yeah binged through Top Boy over the last few nights, great stuff.
How good is Unbelievable?
It's very good indeed, utterly gripping stuff. Kaitlin Dever deserves a nod along with Colette and Wever
Unlike S2 of Mindhumter, which was only just OK, and a huge disappointment after S1.
Top Boy+1. After binge watching the new series I watched the original series again.
Nice one Rone - I have a little crush on Toni Collette. now on my list ta.
Just finished Top Boy last night. **** dark fam innit?
Amazon rather than Netflix... but we are watching "The Boys" at the moment and its a very good dark twist on the super hero genre.
Watched the first 3 episodes of Top Boy last night. Excellent stuff fam!
Anybody done ST3 yet?
I was put off by the timing - mid summer release!
Fahrenheit 11/9 is an eye opener.
One to watch with slightly older younger kids maybe, but my 6 year old and I are loving Hilda at the moment. There are some mildly terrifying moments in there though so if you've got a nervous child might be worth pre watching some episodes. In particular the one about the nightmare creatures...
It's way, way better than the usual kids fare.
Criminal:UK - a 3 episode, self-contained interrogation anthology.
Great stuff actually - taking its cue from the Line of Duty scenes of interrogation, the stories are essentially one location; intense interviews with cop and suspect.
Works well, black mirror-ish in set/tone, strong cast (Katherine Kelly - Becky McDonald! and Neil Tennant, very good)
Worth an hour of late evening TV.
I know it's been mentioned but watched series 1 & 2 of Happy this week. It's so ****ed up its brilliant. While series 2 wasn't imo as good as 1 it still had its moments like the fight in the retirement home.
Rone, seen a trailer last night, looks really good.
A confession and the capture, both on cooncil telly atm are both very good, particularly the capture, reminiscent of spooks.
I miss spooks.
You know I've never seen spooks! Is it worth the time?
OA was great. Binge watched both series. long wait for 3 now.
Gonna be a long ol wait that!
I loved it rone, started off a bit cheaply made tbh, but grew over time.
I'm a fan of British cop/spy stuff, not so much into US stuff, dunno why.
Will give it a whirl Nobeer...
I know it’s been mentioned but watched series 1 & 2 of Happy this week. It’s so **** up its brilliant.
I loved the first series. Really need to catch up with the second.
It was a PSA on here earlier, but S2 of Disenchantement dropped this week. If you're not familiar with it, it's Matt Groening (Simpsons, Futurama) doing a fantasy series. It's great.
Watched Disenchantment. It's odd, I'm not sure who it's meant for. Too adult for kids but not adult enough to seem edgy to adults. It's almost like characters from Simpsons/Futurama got jobs voicing an animation, and then Noel Fielding sounds like himself. I think they wanted to do something different but didn't really know what to do with it.
Spoilers:
"Bite my shiny metal axe."
Cheers for the heads up Cougar, love Futurama.
Can confirm Criminal UK is indeed very good Rone. 👌🏻
Unbelievable on Netflix is good. First episode is a bit slow but from E02 on it really picks up. Well worth a watch.
Aye, I'm torn on that, having a teen daughter makes me struggle to watch that Mr D.
Yeah, I can understand. I think the description is a bit misleading tbh. It’s not all about the case in the first episode. After E01, it starts to switch up to police procedural. There’d be spoilers if I went on any more - but the 2 female leads, who don’t enter in E01 are excellent. So yeah, E01 might be uncomfortable, and let’s face it, what series about rape investigations isn’t going to be, but give it a shot.
Ah, cool, thought it was all about that one case.
yeah binged through Top Boy over the last few nights, great stuff.
Great little twist at the end I thought, didn’t see that coming
HBO rather than Netflix, but Succession is my vote for the best thing on tv right now. Wickedly funny.
Can confirm Criminal UK is indeed very good Rone. 👌🏻
There are apparently a few more versions of it from different countries...
Unbelievable is the best thing I've seen this year on Netflix.
No Ozark or Better Call Saul though. Yet. I think Ozark is next year.
Inside Bills Brain.
A very well put together 3 part documentary about the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation and the incredible work they are doing, filled in with plenty of backstory about his rise to fortune, and how they met etc.
Well worth a watch.
HBO rather than Netflix, but Succession is my vote for the best thing on tv right now.
On Sky Atlantic too - I tried it, but found it impossible to watch something where I hated every single character and so gave up after about ep 3.
I tried it, but found it impossible to watch something where I hated every single character and so gave up after about ep 3.
I only made it through two episodes. Not my cup of tea but was nice to see Cameron from Ferris Bueller has done so well for himself.
Prohibition documentary on Netflix was good.
I do enjoy a bit of social history. What else should I check out?
Succession is the best thing on telly atm
Currently getting spooked out by Marianne on Netflix. Just the right balance of foreign overdubbed weirdness and genuine creepy witch/occult stuff.
found it impossible to watch something where I hated every single character
Come on, cousin Greg is ace, especially when he got sent off to buy drugs for Kendall.
How can anyone not like Succession?
The Dark Crystal is fantastic.
Rone - Neil Tennant in Criminal UK? THAT would be interesting. Wonder what crime he's committed? Bet that it's a sin.
