Ok, my laptop is ancient, it's completely obselete, & will be replaced in the next few days but why is it that STW makes the damn thing fall over EVERY TIME i first log into the site?????

The damn thing is slower than a slow thing on a go-slow but it's always STW that tips it over, other sites (even FB) don't do it.
Try a different browser?
Didn't think there was any Flash on here these days. All the ads show on my phone, there are no blank spaces that I can see, and Flash doesn't work on an iPhone, whereas this site runs fine, for the most part. Occasionally gets all petulant and slows down, but I think that's just t'web generally.
Could be the rich media ads to the right?

It's slow here too and I can guarantee it's nothing to do with the ads. 😉
Singletrackworld used to kill my laptop fairy regularly, not so much since the new site. (6 year old laptop)
Stw is no longer compatible with ie6. Otherwise its prob all the flash ads
