Can't beat a bit of PSB.
Liking Frightened Rabbit too. Not heard of them before.
They sound a lot like Noah And The Whale.

Song from Moderat's really good new album. The video reminds me a lot of playing Halo:

schrickvr6 - that MMoths one is really good. Good album also. Have seen him a couple of times live, bit of a genius that one.

And have just re-discovered this. Amazing mix of African artist and a top draw electronic artist:

Yeh, monster tune. Have you listened to the mix below? Dropped @ 25mins.

Not really listened to any Deftones since White Pony. Listening now to Gore; they sound different to how i remember them!

I listen to more classical than anything else at the minute. This sort of thing, usually:

I've been listening to a lot of Brian Wilson recently - his solo stuff. What a beautiful songwriter.

Happily I found out this morning that he's touring Pet Sounds this year before he goes the way of all the other celebrities in 2016, so as long as he holds out until the end of May I'll be seeing him in London 🙂

Saw him tour the Gershwin album in 2011 and I've never known a crowd to be so warm towards an artist - everyone just really wanted him to give a good performance and he did - superb...

Mind you, at £130 a ticket this time, he better be good!

People pay a lot more to go to the opera.
I paid £145 for a ticket to see Kate Bush; quite possibly the only chance I'll ever have to see her play live, it turned out I had front row centre seats, and it was a remarkable experience, worth every penny.
As it happens, I won't normally pay more than £35-40 to see a band, but that's just me.

People pay a hell of a lot less too.

Well, clearly opera is nothing like "popular" music in that the majority of patrons are upper class twits with nothing better to do with their money!
£20 is my limit - almost every time I've gone over that the gig has been a disappointment. Weird thing is - the more expensive the gig, the more you can hear the natter of people talking all the way through it. Does my head in. Why pay out for a gig and ****ing TALK all the way through it? Maybe the pricier gigs attract people who just go to "be there" and don't actually give a toss about the music.
Ho hum.

Um, we have to pay more to go and see live music now we, the punters have habituated not paying for the recorded music.

Before MP3s and downloads, the artists got most of their revenues from the recorded music and the tour was used as a promotional vehicle for the albums. Now we either don't pay for the recorded music or we pay a lot less, the business model has changed.

Given that I love my music and I want to see the artists be able to earn a living from it, I guess I'll have to fork out a lot more to see them live. And in this instance, I don't mind, I reckon he's worth it.

And as for calling Brian Wilson and old duffer - that's pretty uncharitable. You'd be a bit dufferish if you'd had a life fighting depression and drug addiction. And to be fair, he is one of the pioneers of popular music as we know it.

And perhaps when you've been able to write a tune more beautiful than one of these, you'd be good enough to post it on here 🙂

Well, clearly opera is nothing like "popular" music in that the majority of patrons are C!

Usual load of nonsense spouted about opera and opera goers.

Wagner's Ring Cycle is coming up shortly at the Lowry. A set of 4 operas. Tickets are £19 - £52 for each one. It's virtually sold out. Very few audience members will be "upper class twits with nothing better to do with their money".

You think I don't know Brian Wilson's music?? Jeez. thing is though, it just doesn't move me in the slightest. Cheesiest pop of the 60s with (mostly) awful lyrics.
But hey, each to their own!

Very few audience members will be "upper class twits with nothing better to do with their money".
Well, I wasn't 100% serious, but the last concert I went to was classical and the majority of the audience were over 70. but I'll take your word for it that it's "very few" at opera. 😆

Mutiny on the Bounty. Digital Tropics is the standout album of the year for me so far.

Nice to see Nails back as well. The last album was incredible. Any excuse to post Suum Cuique is welcome

The second Deltron album, Event II. Came out a couple of years back but I was slow getting hold of it. The first album, Deltron 3030, was on rotation for a lot of my uni life, the second album's on regular play now.

But were able to determine how many were upper class twits with too much money?

There were 632 upper class twits. Give or take.

Have been monged on Motorpsycho for months, then just realised tonight they've a new album and ... it's sounding amazing!

First track, stick with it (7min+ long) and you'll thank me if you have an ear and a bud 😉

No! The lovely upper class aged twit audience was the best thing about it! No mobile phones, no talking during the (ahem) band... however, the music was a bit... boring. Not original enough for me. (Plus the guitarist who was supposed to be playing was substituted by a really boring one).

They get a bit angry

The got a bit angry - unfortunately no longer exist - chuffed I managed to see them twice before they split - 2 of the most intense and scary gigs I've experienced! If Dale Barclay comes back, don't miss whatever he does.

That Christine and the Queens was good, and the room got a bit dusty when they all did Purple Rain.
