I don't like all of any of ^ their stuff but they all went through a period where I'd buy anything they put out without hearing it first at all and without hesitation
These days it's too easy to listen to tracks so I don't have a band like that any more ๐Ÿ™

Cutting Cougar, very cutting.

The Macc Lads were a tasteless, yet amusing youthful aberration.
In the same vein as Alf Garnett, lots of people missed the joke.
And yes, they did used to have a Guiness drinking contest and a stripper as the warm up act.

HMHB are, imo the best observational band I've ever heard, who just happen to be very, very funny and very perceptive about the human condition.

I've never heard the Lancashire Hotpots, but my SiL likes them.
Based on that observation, I don't think I want to.

To be fair, I'm not vastly familiar with either of them beyond what a mate used to play when I was around about 25 years ago; my confusion is probably my own ignorance rather than their actual similarity.

The Hotpots are ace though.

I am familiar with them, I saw Moderat at Koko in Camden for my birthday a couple of years ago. But thanks for the tip off anyway.
