Got a week or so in Muscat and fancy getting a day on the bike. Anyone ever ridden / hired there at all?

I lived there years ago, there was a fairly active MTB gang with the PDO cycling club.

See if they are still going, I can't see why not, great place for it if you don't mind being a bit hot.
