Heading to Genoa again with work and will actually have time this time to head into the nearby hills to explore. Found some lovely looking local trail loops so now trying to find a local bike shop who will rent out a high end bike on the 11th May.

Done the normal Google thing and have sent a few e-mails, but if anyone has a local contact/info I would be very grateful.

TIA.

Second the post above, get early train to finale which is great, uplifts generally start before 10am I think.Shouldnt be a problem finding a hire place on Google, hire shops do good bikes out there for in region of 50 euros a day.

Enrico Guala (Superenduro/EWS co founder) is from Genoa and I'm pretty sure he's been involved in some good local trail building. He's on IG as @enrista 👍

Also check out the course notes from the 2017 Superenduro round in Santa Margherita which is on the outskirts of Genoa:

Thank you for the replies, made we rethink plans, will see if I can change flights so I have a hire car from Milan instead as Finale looks too good to miss!

Milan is a long way from Finale. Genova is much closer and a doddle on the train.

Having said that I've friends in Finale who are from Genoa and they say the riding is good, but despite that they were travelling to Finale to ride.

Tbh, it's Liguria, you can't do much wrong.... Train to Cinque Terre in the evening for some wine and bruschetta.

Thanks alpin, I'm currently booked to fly into Genoa but flights are limited so timing is more tricky. Need to ride the same day I arrive as it'll be full on work after that. But more early flight options into Milan, and I don't mind the drive down as it's quite fun coming in over the hills. Also some nice options near Portofino.
