I am currently writing some reports for use in MS CRM and noticed that the SQL server allows for the creation of webpages. The idea that i have had is to create some of the reports as webpages and embed them as part of the dashboard.
Has anyone tried anything similar and advise what i need to get this to work? is there any extra software, etc.
i am using SQL 2008 R2 and it has the option to create new webpage but there are no templates and the the options are greyed out??
😕
Sometimes threads are so far away from your competence you literally have nothing worthwhile to say...
Good luck to you, fella, whatever you're up to!
I hope it's an internal web page - exposing your database to the wild world web isn't a good idea...
I've nothing to add to this other than to say that I read the title as "Ms Sql" like Ms Pac-Man and thought you were being twee.
The moral of this story is, Cougar need coffee badly.
I do have a couple of SQL gurus on tap, however I don't know if they've gone this route. (I didn't know there was such a thing as MS CRM even.)
We use SQL 08 R2, and use the built in web server to publish reports. They aren't embedded, but only linked to, from Sharepoint.
