Can anyone recommend a decent movie to rent out please?
It will be for me and the Missus so Klunkers is out.
We like movies such as:
any Tarantino
Fight Club
Seven
In Bruge.
District 9
Something that has a decent story that is engaging and well acted.
Cheers

Would this be a good time to pimp my mate's blog again?

From the list you've given, have you seen Layer Cake?

+1 for Layer Cake too!

My absolute recommendation however is

Inglorious Basterds.

Everyone I have "made" watch this movie have loved it despite being a bit unsure at first.

Great story, well acted, some nice twists, Tarentino, a bit gruesome. If you like Fight Club you'll love this.

Whats your tolerance for sub-titles and Gay Hasidic Jewish content ? I saw Eyes Wide Open at the weekend brilliant, moving, sad. Not really an action flick tho.

City of God is fantastic

Also, from what you've listed, try Man Bites Dog. Utterly mental in a gratuitously violent way, but also funny. might be a bit difficult to get hold of actually

American Gangster
La Haine (if you don't mind subtitles)
Kick Ass (if you don't mind trash ;-))
