Anyone know what the problem was?

Over an hour (6-7 pm) on the last half mile of the M67, Copper on the lights at the crossroads, artic stopped on the road up from Glossop with police cars behind it, 2 ambulances heading that way, traffic heading from Glossop backed up all the way into Glossop.

Sounds like a typical Friday evening on that stretch of road...

From twitter:

GLOSSOP DOTCOM ?@GLOSSOPDOTCOM 18h
Traffic is backed up on Mottram Moor coming into Glossop - apparently caused by a broken down lorry. Avoid.

PITA is right. I expect it to be busy through Mottram on a Fri evening. I'd budgeted 2 hours for my trip back to Sheffield from Warrington. Took 3.5.

By the time I was through the traffic I was fully 'wired' for the drive over Snake. Probably not the best. Should have stopped to wind down.

Whatever happened to the plans for a bypass?
