Cure for pain just came up randomly on my music stream, and it's now meant that I've gone into my iTunes and set all their stuff to play in a playlist.

And do you think Morphine cared? Loved them when I heard Honey White for the first time. Just three guys playing the music that they wanted to play.

History has proved that many bands have chosen a variety of different instruments over guitars, and as far as chart music is concerned, actual instruments are few and far between.
