Posted earlier about running extension cables down to my pond for a pump. It's going to be too expensive (and disruptive) for the time being. So...instead I am thinking of using a power station. Something like this https://www.solarpowersupply.co.uk/ecoflow-river-portable-power-station-int-version?utm_campaign=shopping&utm_content=&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=

Would that work do you reckon? If I recharge it every time it runs out I should be good to go. Some gaps in pumping etc but better than nothing?

If you are using a pond filter with the pump then it’s bad to have it off for long periods as the bacteria in the filter die.

How much power does the pump you are thinking of consume? You'll need to know to work out how long the battery will last. My guess is...

Not  very long.

Apparently it consumes 70 watts…it doesn’t say but guessing that is per hour

A small pond pump will be around 30 watts, so it'll run for 10 hours (if you get anything like full capacity). That doesn't sound very practical.

Edit, just seen the above, so less than 5 hours run time

A watt is a unit of power i.e. energy per second.

70 watts for 1 hour is 70 Wh. That battery is 288 Wh so you'll get a bit over 4 hours. I think you need another solution...

I doubt it'll ever be a good solution. Go back to the cable options. Or maybe solar.

What's wrong with just running some cheap 2 core speaker cable down the pond running 12/24v and having the PSU in the house. 100 W 12V PSU is probably only £15.

We've got a 50m run of 12v down one of the fences with 10W LED floodlights tapping in every 5m. PSU is in a box on the side of the house plugged in to an outside socket.

I’m facing same issue right now. Pond is around 650 gallons. I was considering a solar pump as I’ve seen them that can do up to 1000 gallons per hr.

A cable running from the house would be cheaper but I’d have to drill a hole in the wall which seems like a chore

Why isn’t a solar pump a viable option?

Why do you need a pump? Im confuzzeled. My folks had ponds for many years - no pumps needed - and they had fish in them
