trying to organise a short secret stag for a friend.

he has organised a quite one in London, which a of his friends aren’t happy with, so I’ve told him we are going for a biking weekend.

So a days riding on Friday, then onto a campsite Friday night. Then all the other people are going to turn up, him not knowing.

so looking for a campsite that will take about 8 blokes, camp fires and also possible water activity on the Saturday.

Cheers in advance

Near London? Or further afield?

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=8699 Sounds great, near Afan

The campsite just out of Bala is a bit rough and ready but ticks all your boxes. Canolfan Tryweryn for the water on the Saturday. Bit of a drive from the smoke though, you don’t say how close you want to be.

Camping Llanberis outside of, we’ll llanberis. Cheap & cheerful (or rough & ready depending on your view point!). Ride / walk out of the back of the site directly onto the Llanberis path for snowdon (avoiding the horrible tarmac hill of doom), 10 minutes walk into town for the pub, kit shopping and the lake. Allows groups of lads and campfires. Facilities are limited though, but I really like it as you can pitch anywhere in the 4 fields they got (flatter better drained pitches in the top fields)

There's one just outside neath something like wild wolf that maybe ok. Your biggest problem is noise.no matter how hard you try 8 booked on stag will make noise that a nylon tent will not protect.

I do apologise for my lack of details, 8 pints will do that.

so we are coming from all over the place. But we are looking at south/central wales.

most based in Bristol, Worcester way.

Somewhere in the Wye Valley will enable you to ride at FoD on the Saturday and then do canoeing on the River Wye on the Sunday. The only campsite I’ve used there is Doward’s Farm, which was really great, but I have no idea if they’ll take 8 blokes or not.

The other option is to camp at Hill End on the Gower - bit more of a lively site with a bar - ride Afan on Saturday, then find some coasteering to do on Sunday.

Water activity South Wales give the white water place in Cardiff bay a go, did it with a bunch of mates a few years ago was a good laugh, try also the Wye for a bit of canoeing.

Wasn't there a Bloke on here doing a shuttle service in North Devon, also had a campsite / farm. Good spot for water based activities..?

I can offer you a campsite that meets all your requirements, other than the fact that our "local" canoe hire place is 15 miles away over the mountain via the Gospel Pass at Hay on Wye. Easy to reach from that there London being only 10 miles from the end of the motorway system, beautiful location, firepit, loos and showers (of a sort 🙂 ), small river next to site, and fantastic mountain biking all around. No other campers or neighbours for miles to disturb. I have a wedding on the site on the 21st July but other than that it is free (though I will be away from 27th July to 4th August). PM if you want more details
