MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
There's a bit of a debate going on FB currently amongst my friends and I know there are a lot of medical people here so I thought I'd post a question maybe you can answer.
Do doctors (either GPs or in hospitals) have to consider the cost of treatment before they give it?
I know that NICE takes it into account when it decides to approve stuff, but I didn't think the docs themselves had to.
This is the original link and I noticed that it uses lots of tear jerking languae but doens't seem to indicate WHY the doctors made their decision. So people are then complaining that doctors don't care about kids and only about money, and so on.
I inhabit another forum (related to my health condition) and people are actually having their meds reduced as well as a reduction in the number of blood tests carried out to deal with said condition.
Also, what is happening is that labs have their own budget and would seem that they can refuse to do blood tests despite the GP requesting them.
