It smells abit. Broken glass from the greenhouse went through the otherside three days ago with a very deep wound. Used steri-stips and the wound covering has been off over 2 hours and it looks like theres fluid under the skin (not the normal bath-time/recovers after a while skin).

I would say not. No swelling.

Nothing that can't be solved with hot tar and an axe.

Best start at the elbow to be sure.

😉

[Try copious neat Tea-tree and Iodine]

Has it been covered for the last 3 days and the dressing not removed?

It just looks like it's starting to macerate to me (prolonged exposure to moisture/dressing not breathable enough).

With infection it would be red, swollen, angry; a deep wound is going to throb but there's a good chance the smell is due to the sweaty wet skin.

Keep it exposed to air for a good few hours or very lightly dress it and see if the skin reperfuses a bit.

Edit- the swelling around the joint, how tight has the dressing been?

Have you had the dressing on for the last three days?
It certainly looks like the base of it was too tight!

Call 111. They'll probably dispatch you a Dr via helicopter 😉

Its been quite tight as the otherside wouldnt stop bleeding - just started weeping blood daily soaking through so it has been consistently 'wet'. Its the smell though- really bad cheese. Even at arms length!

Glass cuts need investigated, cleansed and possibly x-rayed to make sure there's no fragments left in. I take it you did all that?

Off you go to a Minor Injuries Unit.

Let it dry then draw a line around the perimeter of the red area - if it's red outside the line after a further 24 hours it's probably infected.

If you cover the lower three fingers and 'blur' your eyes a bit, it looks a bit like a .....well, never mind....

Can't cats and dogs tell when things are going "off"? Maybe get a pet to sniff it and see whether they think it is worth eating, or burying.

Go and lie on a rock and see if vultures come and devour it.

Bind it with a mercury compress and take 5g of Arsenic washed down with Meths. Repeat every 5 hours until either your todger falls off, or you feel better.
