I think you mean Eastlands if you want to show him the home of the Champions.

If you'd been going to Eastlands the home of the Champions I would have picked you up myself 🙂
I reckon train to MCR then tram back out to OT or taxi if you've got the cash. You can probably do it by bus without going back into MCR too but using local buses will probably take just as long.

Train to Piccadilly, Altrincham Tram to Trafford.
Top Tip though it will only save you a few pence is to use your train ticket on the tram to cornbrook then get off and get a return ticket from there as your train ticket is valid for travel within the city limits.

there is no way on god's earth that's from the airport! it would cost that one way!

I lived in manchester for over 8 years and I can assure you the best way is on the train/tram! (Unless it's a match day when it's a nightmare)

How old is he?

The Imperial War Museum is just round the corner, as is the Lowry.
Both well worth a visit for slightly older kids.

He's 13.

Football daft and MU daft. Old Trafford visit was a birthday present to him from mum and dad. I doubt a visit elsewhere will be high on his agenda once he has done the tour and splashed his birthday cash in the megastore.
