The Malet in Newton Toney has a new carpet! 😯 😯 😯
Wow. After over 30 years, the carpet has gone to the great carpet bin in the sky.
I am pleased to report, however, that the menu is still sublime (Malet Burger, rare, obviously!) and that the beer is still top notch. Bertie's propping up the bar with such character (He's a Jack Russell, in case you don't know him) and the whole place is still possibly the finest pub anywhere.
This, however, is all irrelevant - THERE'S A NEW CARPET! 😯
