For those that use a Mac and Photoshop Elements - do you use iPhoto or the in built Elements Organiser for viewing / organising etc prior to editing?

Cheers

I find iPhoto ace for organising photos. On the rare occasion that I edit photos, I export them to PS Elements, then import the edited file into iPhoto as a new photo.

Have you used iPhoto yet? For home user photo organisation, I think you would struggle to beat it.

If I were you I'd find the bit of your hard drive with iphoto on it and set light to it somehow, perhaps with a blow torch? Awful software.

The PC version of Elements Organiser did not have a great rep, dunno if it's better for the Mac.

I actually use Picasa. Just can not stand the way iPhoto organises the physical files on the harddrive.....but then I am a bit OCD when it comes to stuff like that.

Awful software.

I find completely the opposite. I plug my digical cam into my Mac, iPhoto pops open, I press 'Import', and hey presto it's all done, photos loaded, memory card wiped clean for fresh lot of pics, photos all sorted according to date- fantastic. If I want to 'share' a pic, there's neat options for emailing and burning to CDs. iTunes-like album sorting feature (like Playlists) is great. It's all so simple and intuitive to use.

Brilliant software! 🙂

Iphoto integrates with imovie seamlessly also. Been making a family vid and its been amazing, photos from iphoto, music from itunes, and video from imovie, all integrated. Misses some power features but apart from that seems very good

Elements 9 with the all new improved organiser has just landed on my doormat:)
I did import a few pics into iphoto- I have a folder full of my pics, I imported from that- am I right in thinking that iphoto makes a copy of that and puts it in the iphoto folder rather than just linking back to it's original location or am I confused (new mac user)
