I heard the blue is better than the red...

I heard Surf Matt absolutely smashed the black run. He didn't once boast about it though.

I've been here (quietly) for 15 years. Not back as far as GoFar but it still feels like a fair old time.

The oldest memey thing I remember may be "you are a troll and I claim my five pounds". Which may well have been said on:

The star nut stuck in my carbon steerer thread was a good 'un too

That was dan or beer, wasn't it? Back when you could just type in any username for each post so trolling was very simple indeed. One of them was quite funny, the other one mainly tried to get people to click on links to disgusting web sites. I can't remember which one was which any more.

Did anyone ever find out if there was a cure for brittle knees?

Nearly 9 years on the post hack forum and a good year or two before that I reckon. 😯

I know a few people I know are on here but I think there is only one who I'm fairly sure I know who they are.

I have Mrs Toast’s rainbow/spokeydokey image stored somewhere. It still makes me giggle uncontrollably.

I'm from GoFar days as well and all it serves to do is remind me I am old !
Badger, surfmatt, mint sauce, being able to ask brant about your order, the hack, the hamsters, bullhearts first postings. Picolax of course. Mumsnet, hora, tj when he was overtly Arthur scargill. Ah, I am old.

Photoshop threads are always a treat, and among the treats they produce, that was perhaps the pinnacle!

I’m a newb compared to you lot. 5 years and counting down the days.

Sadly the days of endless architecture threads have disappeared, post a theme and let it roll.
Some personalities have sadly left, some reset themselves yet return to type.

Some hilarious threads have lightened my day, don’t really know about the old days but understand to some they still instill wonderment.

But it’s all gone a bit shit since the Brexit vote, divided and secular personal traits have tainted and blur over the good time before the vote.

“Improving wife signal in house” was a good one (here).

Oh and the guy who brought a disc rotor from Merlin (here).

Only 4 and 3 years though, seems longer.

Edit... Jenson Button and his Yeti.

And...

I think I joined at uni way back in 2002. Changed usernames in one of the great crashes. Was introduced to the place by Fruit who was a friend at uni - before he was the infamous bike components mogul he became.

Really came into its own around 2006 when I moved to Somerset and met up with Dibbs, Sharkie and Knottie off of here to get shown all the "secret" stuff.

I miss the brief fun where we were allowed to tag threads... I tihnk only special people can now.

First heard about ST and the forum when I went to the first SITS back in 2001. Joined the forum a bit after then iirc. Most of the people I now count as friends were met through the forum BITD. Even Drac!

Awful!?! It's comedy gold and we only keep it going to see what happens if 1000 pages is like the Millenium Bug.

Nearly there.....

Do you remember what happened at his initiation? I really didn't think the stains would ever wash out.

Sudocreme cat was my all time favorite, I was quite literally crying with laughter
Some of the crossposted Mumsnet posts have also had me in fits

"pen1sbeaker" being one

I remember TJ, Southern Yeti, iDave, etc

Not been around much the last year or so because Ive not been riding and been busy with other stuff but must have been on here 7 or 8 years at the very least, so still a young'un in forum terms

Who was it a few Christmas ago who got some kind of skintight jumpsuit type thing bought for them ?

They were persuaded to post a picture of them wearing it and Jamie photoshopped it into another picture with a jar of Vaseline and a glove on the table 😆

Have I really been here for 17 years?

I joined after hearing that I was being talked about after breaking my collarbone. Could have been Bikemagic though.

First issue was issue 4.

Where is the girl from the gym?

Longer than I thought. I have have just spent a sad wee period reflecting on those who have sadly passed away, or become very poorly in the period that I have ‘known them’

You'd have to go far back, to before issue 1, to see when some of us started.

Cute runner - shone brightly and wound lots up for a short time.

The bloke that tried to get a mouse out of his sofa. He had another thread that was equally funny, but can’t remember it too well now.

Think I first logged in around 2005? Maybe earlier actually as I did some races with Houns and ChunkyMTB and Luke and jojo, etc in 2007.

Ahhh, so many good threads. I’ve been on here about 12 years I think. I also liked GeeTee’s personal ad, and the “how do deal with asky people” was funny, some guy getting shafted by his mate, Google Fu is failing me though.

Actually "Ur bik is Saricin and ur XC jeyboy" is the earliest running joke on here that I remember.

When I first joined this place had an awful lot of full sus vs hardtail threads, which were mainly about pedalling efficiency. Singlespeeding and Inbred ownership were very well represented.

Were there threats to track people via their IP addresses in the badger pump thread? The original Yes Tubes page that triggered it all off does not seem to be around any longer, but look what I found on archive.org!
