Is there a way to get from the dam at the eastern end of Llyn Cowlyd to Llyn Crafnant without the road descent?
Looking at OS and Google Earth, it looks like there is a path that heads south from the dam before entering the woods and ending at Hendre.
Anyone ridden this?

Looking at strava heat map it looks like it gets "ridden" though it looks like there's quite a pull up from the dam - https://www.strava.com/heatmap#14.00/-3.88616/53.13197/hot/ride

Yes - had spotted a couple of strava segments that suggest it's ridden, if somewhat infrequently.
