These threads can wait until Christmas at least can't they?
Unless you're just Scouse baiting?

just revelling in a fabulous win for my team, whilst at the same time asking a serious question about the title winning abilities of a certain rafa benitez.

anyway, it will be a cold question by xmas.

hardly early, benitez has been in the job for quite a while now and looks no closer to winning the title than he ever did.
obviously i'm happy that villa have won at anfield but the question about benitez is a serious one. as hansen said last weekend, you can't win the league in the first five games, but you can certainly lose it.

Every neutral wants Liverpool to hang on to Benitez..... I dont think he has the tactical ability/skill to win the league. His european record is fantastic and they have really punched above their weight their..
Not sure about what to say re title as you cant win the title in August but you sure can loose it.

How much more [s]fun[/s]abusive andlong winded would this thread be with Lansera and Rudeboy?

Benitez is the right man for the job. Give him more time to show just what he can achieve.

They're a two-man team. Gerrard and Torres. If either of those are having an off day then they're ****ed!! If one of them gets a serious injury, that's the scousers season well and truly over. S****

Trailmonkey I recall he got quite close last season.

I agree that it is a disastrous start to the season and it may be beyond Liverpool for another year which is depressing but I still think Benitez is the right man for now.

No Livepool fans calling for Benitez to go? It's like waiting for the first cuckoo of spring

Half-listening to BBC news this morning: 'Benitez shouted at everyone in the dressing room, including Gerrard'.

Well that gets things done doesn't it.

Why not consider tactics, good squad choice, developing team spirit and co-operation.

Ohh, u**** it, shouting at half time is easier.

'Benitez shouted at everyone in the dressing room, including Gerrard'.

which is all well and good but if you're facing a better team there's not much you can do. benitez's problem is that given the respective resources spurs and villa should not be better teams than liverpool.

Iys gonna be a strange season. Any of about 10 teams are capable of beating each other in the top half. It wouldnt surprise me if the winners of the league are also the team with the highest number of defeats in a season by a league winner. So in the long run 2 defeats will not be insurmountable (Although i bet they would rather not have them).

This is why i believe Chelsea will win it. They are the team most equipped to grind out reults and be consistant. This is coming from a Spurs supporter who believes a top 6 will be a job well done.

Me too.
Having said that (and I know Man Utd supporters are occasionally criticised for a degree of arrogance) but I go into every season thinking the main threat are going to win it. That way I'm even more pleased when we win it.

Don't worry the long ball game where Reina (?) dinks the ball onto Torres' head and he scores will make up for Alonso leaving ๐Ÿ˜€

Considering they only lost 2 games last season, I reckon they're ****ed, probably to be replaced in the "Top 4" by Tottingham Hotspurs, he hee
