Binners has often touted this place in Bury where they talk all funny, but OMFAAGAFAG they've opened on the right side of the Pennines on Kirkstall Road in Leeds!!

Arcade Club Bury is ace. I've just (like half an hour ago) booked a ticket for an event there next month, Steve McNeil (of Go 8-Bit) is hosting an all-dayer party.

Unrelated to AC, but this is an interesting article if you like that sort of thing.

There is nowhere on earth swallows a Saturday afternoon, or indeed a Friday night, like Arcade Club.

Even if my 15 year old daughter always now absolutely whoops me on Sega Rally

There is a bar in Manchester that has loads of retro games - will have to look it up.

Arcade club has a bar that’s cheap
As chips and you can sit having a beer while playing the tabletop games. The 2 player of Joust being my favourite

The guy who started Arcade Club is a lovely bloke who looks exactly like comic book guy out of the Simpsons, as you would expect 😃

ohhh, that looks like fun - that's our next work night out sorted.

Do they have a bar (i.e. beer) at the Leeds one? Any grub?

The Bury one serves exactly the kind of food you’d want to eat while in an arcade ie: burgers and chips

I’d imagine they’ve just recreated the same thing over on t’other side of the Pennines. Beer, chips, burgers and video games? What more do you want out of life?

Oh... and Fab Cafe in Manchester is ace. Not been in for a while but it did have an original Star Wars game in there

I had no idea this existed. It looks brilliant. Do they have Space Harrier, Double Dragon or Splatter House? Ooh and Rolling Thunder and Kung-fu Master

Awesome PSA, thank you!

I've been meaning to go to the Bury one for some time with my younger brother as we both absolutely love old skool arcades. Spent a good part of my childhood in Redcar / Whitby / Scarborough arcades playing Street Fighter 2, After Burner, Space Harrier and the rest of them and I always remember the Neo Geo multi game cabinets that every camp site in France in the 80s and 90s used to have. Also used to love going to the bowling alley on Teesside Park near Middlesbrough right through the late 80s and 90s as they always had the latest games such as Mortal Kombat 2, Virtua Fighter and at one point they had a full size Mazda MX 5 with a giant projection screen to play Ridge Racer on!

Amazing news that they've opened one right near to us in Leeds. We're already making plans to go.

@fossy - really love your arcade cabinet. I've been wanting to make / buy a multi game cabinet for some time but the wife has kept a lid on it for the moment until we get a "bigger house" apparently..... 😀

Sounds pretty damn good to me.

Nuts.
I moved house a while ago, but that’s about 100m from my old house.
Typical 🙄
