Hi; we want to the ‘let’s ride, Birmingham’ event, but we’ve never done it before and don’t know what to expect. The website is a bit haphazard and I haven’t been able to work out how it works. We want to join the route at Cannon Hill Park, but the start is st New street? I’ve heard that you can join the route anywhere, but you need a bib to join the route. Can we get these at multiple places, or does it need to be from the start? We are registered but haven’t had lots of info back. I’m sure all will become clear, but a bit of reassurance/advice/recounting of past experience/piss taking from someone who has done it before would be appreciated, thanks!
I did it last year and just joined the route where I found it first, didn't even realise you needed a bib until I was offered one after an hour or so. I doubt very much anyone will stop you or even question you, it's a very relaxed event, and if they do say you are riding to the start to get you bib.

It was good fun, great for kids as it's mostly flat, closed roads and lots of friendly people. I went up with my dad and had a nice couple of hours pootling around, it was just lovely to see lots of people of all ages, shapes and sizes on bikes. Couple of nice coffee and food stall too for a stop and a snack.
