Leaving a van in Fort William for few days?

A mate wants me to help sail his boat from Fort Bill to Knoydart. I plan to take a bike with me on the boat and cycle back to the van afterwards. So looking for somewhere in or near Fort William where the van would be relatively safe for those few days. Maybe 3 or 4 total. Any suggestions?

And any gravel sections that could be incorporated into the ride back?

My default is to use a ‘parkonmydrive’ type websites as I think any parking any desirable van or camper in a public car park for a few days is likely to attract attention.

For the car we have used long term paid parking at supermarkets via the parking websites.

I've asked a friend who lives there now, so hopefully will have some kind of answer in a day or so...that will hopefully be useful.

Outside Nevis Cycles.

Assuming you'd be getting a boat back to Mallaig from Inverie, there's not really much in the way of off-road riding without taking a massive detour.

Know anyone in the Climbers Club? They have a cottage in Roy Bridge which is well out of the way and off the main drag

There is a large carpark in Banavie at the bottom of Neptune's Staircase where people leave vehicles when they paddle the Great Glen. There should be no problem leaving a van there.

Thanks for all the tips. My mate is bringing his boat through the great glen from Inverness so would be logical to meet him at Neptunes Staircase. Knowing there is a large carpark that people leave vans in for a few days is great to learn. Will also save a few miles on the return cycle from Mallaig!
