I am going to get my 5 year old daughter a Leap Pad 2 http://www.elc.co.uk/on/demandware.store/Sites-ELCENGB-Site/default/Search-Show?q=leap%20pad%202 for Christmas. Has anyone else brought their child one? I think they are a really good way for children to learn as its an interactive way!

Looked at one last year to be shared by a niece and nephew but the mains power requirement & expensive apps (+ proprietary ecosystem) put me off. The Fuhu Nabi 2 looks a better bet this time around, might not be quite as simple for a 5 year old but would have more legs.

Cheap android tablet + zoodles, then at least they've got a device that they can use for a good while
