My Bush LCD tele turns on (standby light goes green), but there's no picture. I've taken the screen out and its a samsung with a part number on it, they are on ebay for about 30 quid. Do I take the punt on the screen or is it likely to be something else?

Look for any bulging or leaking capacitors.

No caps leaking, although there was a 'pop' according to the mrs. No Sound... don't know how to get to the backlight... didn't wanna start taking the LCD screen itself to bits

if no sound it is more likely to be the main PSU board.
