End of July? So school holidays? You're stuffed, and I speak as someone who is trying the same thing. Am about to give up and throw a horrible amount of money at 2 weeks in Sri Lanka.

My parents do this almost every holiday.
Mostly go anywhere hot. Tomorrow. Literally book Friday night to fly saturday
Had a couple of stinkers but usually when all inclusive. Self catering hasn't thrown them any surprises.
