Quite something isn't it. Don't let the camera work for the first few minutes put you off, it's bad enough to make you think it totally unwatchable, it is for a bit but don't give up.

To be fair, it is the actual divers hat cameras from the accident, not meant to be broadcast quality!

I watched this on Netflix last night.

Straight into my top ten favourite films.

Just incredible.

No spoilers here.

Just one question - if the umbilical is compromised, would the diver not have a battery powered lamp as back-up?

Generally no. For some tasks, a diver may carry a light to allow to do particular inspections etc a bit easier.

The lack of a light is probably the least of his problems.

He is suffocating and freezing to death.

I wasn't referring to that but the dreadful stuff he and his wife shot to send to each other. Just horrible to watch

One of my watches a Scurfa Diver One is made by a company owned by a saturation diver who is also a watch enthusiast. Paul Scurfield.

There are some groovy timepieces in this film too.

Did I say this is a great film?

Watched this last night after seeing this thread. Really good and an incredible story. The Vulcan really has no emotions...

I wouldn't want the Vulcan to be in my team.

He must have had his emotional centre excised. Very, very chilling really.

Tbh I'd rather have him dragging me back than somebody who's fell apart panicking 😁 had a discussion about this film with a mate and he couldn't get it that the diver just couldn't come to the surface and be picked up 😂 the fact that he wasn't breathing air or had any buoyancy device wasn't considered lol!

And the fact that he would of almost exploded if he had. It takes about a week to decompress from that depth!
