Lenovo ideapad 330 - pretty basic spec.

It won't power up on the power button on battery. Plug it in and it starts fine. Unplug it and battery is 100%

I've had a root around in power, battery and start up settings, but can't see anything obvious.

Any ideas? Ta

Knackered battery would be my guess, but that's all it is.

Been sat working off battery since I started it (only plugged it in for a few seconds)
Battery currently on 77%

I recall a strange issue we had with a laptop after an update where it set the screen brightness at zero when on battery. I can’t recall all the details right now but effectively all the brightness controls had been reversed.
Have you’ve tried removing and reseating the battery and cleaning any contacts.

If you're on battery and chugging away, what happens if you tell the OS to do a restart? Does it come back or does it stop after the shutdown? Also when you say it doesn't start does it start then falter, make any noises, any lights come on or does it act like the power button isn't wired to anything?

Restarts ok.

It's like the power button is disabled - no light on it
