Why do they do up at the fly the other way to mens?

From doing the ironing when i was married, i seem to recollect their (womens) jeans doing up the same way as ours.
However, twice now have i had incidents where a visit to the loo results in unco-ordinated fumbles whilst trying to release my togger.

Same with shirts, or blouses as the old uns call them (not that i've worn a blouse) am i right in thinking they too flap over to the left.

Who can i blame for this, it's stupid and damn right annoying. Sometimes when i'm caught short it's a rush to release the little fella..

Rant over.

And from your post it seems that you have taken to wearing women's clothing. Why?

Who can i blame for this

Yourself?

Ladies had maids who dressed them, hence the need to have the buttons do up that way, buttons to the left would be to the right of the maid facing them from the front. Gentlemen, sadly, reached a stage when they dressed themselves and so the buttons were left as is.

Maybe if you took to wearing women's clothing all week you'd get used to them and it wouldn't be such a change when you're in your 'going out' gear at the weekend?

Easier to undo from the outside, I can undress a woman but undressing a man is damn right annoying

From recent posts, it should be quite clear that i really DGAF what i look like for the sake of good humour, or in this case, all my clothes are in he wash so orrowing a pair a trussers was a better option than nekid.

Why should i blame myself for the historic design of a item of clothing?

Ah so i need a maid now the get dressed do i..FFS.

Where on the scottish borders can i find a maid willing to dress and cross dressing mountainbiker?
Lifes just so complicated sometimes.

I do hope this doesn't include you CFH? I trust that you haven't had to make your 'man's man' redundant!

there's something about riding side-saddle and blouses obscenely billowing in the wind too, so the button side was swapped

Julian - my gentleman's gentleman has had the weekend off. It's been terrible, I can tell you. 😉

Diane - Yes. I am. Which is nice. 8)
