We will be in touch
Hi all, the wife & I are contemplating a trip in early June to La Rochelle/surrounding area in our VW T4 campervan along with our 7 yr old springer spaniel.
just some general tips required please on good, not too big sites, whether its generally a dog friendly area, i.e. are there beaches allowing dogs etc,
many thanks
i'd go north a bit to La Trenche or Longueville, nice big forests and plenty of sites and a massive beach, can't remember about dogs and beaches.
thanks for the tip
La Rochelle is a fantastic place and very dog friendly. Ile de re is one of the nicest places we have ever had the pleasure of going.
Good campsite in st martin on the Ile de re, the municipal one!
If you like wine, pop over to: http://www.chateaupoujeaux.com/en/ in Moulis Medoc, you will not be disappointed.
Here’s a couple of sites and things to do..
There is a big informal camper van site pretty much in the centre of La Rochelle near the hospital. Nice town to wander around. - 3B Rue des Jars, 17000 La Rochelle, France
Also one at Fouras near the ferry to the Ille d’Aix.
Pointe de la Fumée, 17450 Fouras, France
Then you can walk out at low tide to Fort Énet

And take the ferry to Ille d’Aix

And of course a bit of cycling …
