We will be in touch
Last week or so one of the fish has just 'had a quiet one' near the surface, not eating but not showing any signs of distress or infestation. Got home on tuesday and it was dead......wasnt too concerned as all other fish appeared fine, just 'one of those things' that happen to fish hopefully.
Anyway, last 24hours my prize koi is doing the same (prize as in I've had it for several years, not huge!) - fins all up and looking healthy, no signs of infestation, feeding slightly but just having a quiet time very near the surface - not gasping for air and showing no signs of stress... ......just like the other one that has died!!
Going to get water testing kit this afternoon and do all the tests.
Any other ideas/advive appreciated, thanks
Tha's bad news SiB, its terrible when you lose a fish.
If it was me, I would take a sample of the water to you local supplier and get them to test it.
They will be able to test all the different options then for you with a decent test kit.
Have you added anything recently?
Only thing added recently is a new lilly in pond a month or so ago which was purchased from the pond centre I'll be visiting this afternoon...if there was anything wrong with that though surely it would affect all the fish?
Its a raised pond so no surface wayer runs in but i havent used anything at all in the garden recently so I dont think its contamination - again that would affect all the fish wouldn't it?
