Bought a Hero 7.1, it connected to my wireless network easily and shows a good signal strength, the desktop PC next to the router is hardwired in to the router, PC is running Windows 8, have installed the Kodak software on to the PC, going through the printer setup utility, the printer comes up on the list but when I click next it keeps saying printer not detected. Not got any joy online or using Kodak help pages. Frustratingly, when I go through control panel, the printer is listed and set as my default printer and will happily print documents, cannot scan though as the scanning software shows the printer as not connected, am at my wits end with it, any ideas?

This "Kodak software", is it a CD that came with it? If so, throw it in the bin and download something that was written in the last ten years from Kodak's website.

OK, have done that, the downloaded version is exactly the same as that on the CD. Managed to get printer connected and working properly on laptop, tried a wireless adapter on desktop to no avail and now printer does not work with laptop, sick of the pile of sh1t, going back for a refund now.

Calmed down now, any other ideas before it goes back?

When it "doesn't work", could you be any less specific?

OK, printer was detected by laptop, this then installed the drivers on the laptop, the laptop then checked for upgrades and downloaded and installed the latest firmware, I then proceeded to print from the laptop and scan from the laptop. After this I then connected my desktop to the router using a wireless adapter (previously connected using an ethernet cable), desktop and router now wirelessly connected, retried connecting printer to desktop, still not detected, gave up on desktop, went back to laptop and now the laptop cannot detect the printer. Laptop running windows 7, desktop running windows 8, both connected together via homegroup.

Problem solved!!!

Exchanged the Kodak for a HP, 1/2 the price and fully set up in under 10 mins, available to all the PC's in my homegroup, am a happy bunny once more 😀
