Hard work naming kittens. A friend's daughter recently named their new arrival "Thursday" for obvious reasons - seems to suit her.
Our last one has a very smelly bum, so he's called Pablo ; Pablo Stinkasso ๐Ÿ˜‰

Stick with Dave, then when the smart-arse vetinary nurse says

"You do know it's a girl?"

you can say

" You do know it's a cat, with no concept of gender or language..."

We had one called Friday, probably for similar reasons.
Have also had:
Oliver-Doris (girl)
Minstral (as in black and white minstral)
Bob (also girl)
Marc (as in Mk11, also black and white)
Currently have Gordon.

Woman in our village has one called HelloCat because that what she says whenever she sees it. GF's neighbour's have one called Moo, black and white again.

Probably heard it before, but I think Sindrum is a good name. When he/she jumps up at people you get to shout 'Down Sindrum' very loudly.

Mine were called - Ripley (was called ralph but just couldnt face owning a cat called ralph) and Kato because it always attacking me. Both are perfectly reasonable names for cat but flee bag, toad and pudding were reasonable substitutes depending circumstance. Mate had one called catapult.

I've now grown out of cat ownership.

Galore - as in the Bond character.

Orca - if it's a black and white one.

Lunch - if you're living anywhere near foxes.

Pancake - if you're living near a road.

Lazy but called ours KitKat. Useful for screaming at it because it answers to a yell of Cat.

Last cats were called Ratty, Girlsy and Jonny Caruthers.

Friend had a cat that was tiny so was called Junior, turned out to be the ultimate killing machine. One morning she woke up to utter mayhem in her house, she thought she was being burgled. Junior was fighting a squirrel he had caught. The battle lasted about 10 minutes and the squirrel was dispatched.

My cat is called Max, but his full name is Maxellton J. Cat the Third. He's not the third he just thinks it makes him sound important. Oh, and the 'J' is short for Judas.

But we only use his full name when he's been naughty .... so quite often what with him being a cat and having no regard of what we think, say or do. ๐Ÿ™‚

Reminds me of a rabbit we had called Toby, full name was Mr Tobias P Whiskers.

My cats are Maggie and Maxwell.

Thanks for all your suggestions people, much appreciated. I'm still liking Dave, nice and easy to get along with. However my niece has won and she wants us to call her Maggie after her snowman which is no longer with us. RIP.

Maggie is quite appropriate as it'll steal all your milk.

Couldn't have anything of that name in the house though, and definitely couldn't stand at the back door and shout it.
What would the neighbours think?
