I'm finally getting around to fitting my kitchen and have to sort out the worktops, has anyone on here cut (holes for sink, tap, and hob) in solid laminate worktops, and is it difficult?
I'm confident cutting a normal laminate covered chipboard worktop and do a pretty good job of the joins, I also have decent tools like routers and a track saw. MrsSpursn17 wants an undermounted sink as well, so that'll make it harder.
Did it on a solid oak worktop. Used jigsaw for the sink and hob cutouts. Didn't have to do taps as they attached to the sink. Brother in law did the edging and cutting of the worktops using his router, jig and biscuit jointer.
Thanks jeffl. I can fit solid wood and normal laminate worktops no problem, I've got the jig for a masons mitre joint and have cut a fair few including the biscuits. I need to know if there's anything special about solid laminate.
