Just wondering if there is a problem with them as the daughters xmas pressie refuses to work
My daughter also got one for Christmas. No problem this end so far.

yes charged it up then first time on it booted and she started to add her details. got her details in and switched it off .
hour later tried to switch it on and only got the kindlefire logo which stayed on and that was the end of her Kindle experience .
tried the internet which came back with a hard reboot of holding the on button in for 20 seconds. but to no avail
The mrs has only had hers a few hours but seems ok. Hasn't been dropped has it? They're pretty fragile
Sounds borked. Get onto amazon they are very good.

Another question, afreind got one , and when we switched it on, we need to register, why, and also how do you get on the internet, all the internets logos say no coverage.Even the bt ones.
why - because amazon subsidise it 😉 - so they can beam their ads direct to your brain.
