So anybody received anything that they have backed on Kickstarter (or similar)?
I've backed MOSS
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/modrobotics/moss-the-dynamic-robot-construction-kit/description
Hopefully it will be as good as it looks?

Not my thing but happened across it through an old biking buddy on facebook; the fella behind it got my respect.

I supported Protest the Hero when they crowdfunded their latest album so could go it alone without a record company having a say in what they do, well worth the money imho

Yup Infection Simulation a video game it's been delayed and put back onto Kickstarter. It was only a small amount so not bothered but going back to Kickstarted for more cash seem wrong.

See Sense bike lights, (fairly confident, lots of updates, delivery January) and a band called Magic Fiver, 'cos they wanted a Tenner and sent me a nice reply when I sent a message regarding the ironing.

I backed a board game called Cornish Smuggler. It's been very slightly delayed, but should be with me next month.

yep, vivax laptop case. looks to be very nearly ready to be delivered. A
Also backed a screen protector for a phone, first one delivered was really cack (bad batch from factory). The guy behind it gave everyone a free replacement of the version two model after modifying the design.

I backed a mini drive project for the SD storage slot on Macs and received my production version in the post.

Considering backing a raspberry Pi case kickstarter that's going now:

Yup. Got it a couple of weeks ago ahead of schedule.

Just backed this one too as it was cheap and a great idea:

i backed Velocity Clip and it's amazing, definitely worth the money

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1129157372/the-worlds-most-universal-android-and-iphone-video-0

it works great with my Xperia Z, the only bad thing though is a very narrow angle of the camera lens. the only way to overcome it is to use some wide angle magnetic lenses

I've backed RIDEYE, a camera that will capture my own death.

I backed the spurcycle better bicycle bell , perhaps it's overpriced but i'm a sucker for coveting simple designed things of tactile beauty, and it will match my Tripster so that was a good enough reason.

I've also backed the Graeme Obree "Beastie" documentory as it and Graeme deserves to get funding so a wider audience gets to see it.

Also backed the Patchbloks mini programmable synth modules, i went halfers on the rainbow set of 4 with a mate.

I wanted a decent looking dual dock for my ipad and iphone so i thought this'd be worth a punt, Everdock duo.

I wish i had backed this midi controller as it looks ideal for my bleepy noise making sessions but at £275 for an untested bit of kit i'll wait till hear reports of an actual unit, and with that sort of kit it's vital to have a hands on play beforehand.

There's loads of projects on the site that's deserving of financial backing, and there's also loads of stuff that makes you scratch your head and think "wtf are they thinking?", usually involving the arty or theatre creative stuff.

Roll For the Soul bike cafe in Bristol. Several miserable buggers on here saw no value in it. I am very pleased that enough people thought it worthy and that they are up and running.

I meant to back a camera flash filter attachment thing called magmod, but becuase I am a moronic procrastinator I forgot/didn't get round to it in time.

But, I have added my e-mail to their mailing list so I can get one when it becomes available.

I Kickstarted Shadowrun Returns. Great little game.

I've also backed Star Citizen, but I'm increasingly worried that it's going to turn out to be a waste of money given my laptop wasn't even beefy enough to run the tech demo.

Not bike related. I backed a board game called Sedition Wars: Battle for Alabaster.

It's initial goal for production was about $20000. It raised $970000. The stretch goals got very messy and confusing. In the end I did get a lot of extras and the game was better for it. They had a lot of production problems, the printers disappearing overnight, very late deliveries, some of the sculpts of the miniatures were not as expected. It has worked out ok in the end, but there are a lot of backers who are not very happy.

It was my first Kickstarter and I went into it under the misapprehension that I would be guaranteed a product. Looking deeper into the Kickstarter business models I'm one of the lucky ones that got what I invested in. I doubt I'd back another to the level which I backed this one. £20-30 isn't much to lose to get someone's business going. I jumped in with nearly £200. A bit more to lose with nothing guaranteed to be delivered.

SeeSense light too - expecting to receive in January I think.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1670187625/seesense-the-intelligent-bike-light-with-road-sens

And the Black Moth Super Rainbow album project. Didn't go for a mask though.

Couple of nice pens, the Ribman's hot sauces, the new Morph episodes, various board games.

Works well for people who've got most of the way there, have something good to show and just need the money to get a proper production run sorted - hence why it works so well for board games.

There's a lot of pie-in-the-sky stuff on there though - a good proportion never hit their funding goals so any backers just get refunds.

See sense bike light.
Really good updates, seems like quite a professional outfit, looking forward to getting my light in Jan/Feb

Thinking about backing the Obree Film now too as that deserves a wider audience

Yup. Just got a mail saying that funding has been successful for a book that looked awesome. I tend to have a browse of the new new projects once a week or so to find anything that piques my interest. Just pledged some money to a couple of artists from Brum who are putting out a graphic novel that looked good.

I've got four things on the go, three on Kickstarter; a tripod stand for an iPhone that clicks into one flat wallet sized sheet, a small Bluetooth stereo portable speaker with a bamboo case, and retro woven speaker grills, a new album by one of my favourite singer-songwriters, Gemma Hayes, and an album in celebration of Mark Linkous from Sparklehorse, to raise awareness of mental illness.
