I try not watch these as I get very critical but going to give it the benefit of doubt. It's a service I'm proud to be part of.

Weight loss surgery now. £10,000 quid for one op, and the number has quadruppled over the last few years.

JUST PERHAPS STOP EATING SO MUCH AND BUY A BIKE.

It will be censored so not really a true picture of treatment in an NHS hospital the staff are going to be on their best behaviour whilst the cameras are about.

Canny old dude telling his wife straight. Got to love the oldies.

True Rich but it'll hopefully show people what goes on, plus a majority of staff are good at their jobs some very and a few excellent.

and she wasnt aware of it,just like a freind who had back pain, and a few other problems and went to gp 2 weeks ago, a few weeks later is due to have her lung removed due to cancer.

Sometimes one thing will show up as something more serious.

Yeah often does. Ovarian cancer is sometimes known as the silent cancer.

Never know what hand life will deal you.

By hell now working in the NHS for over 20 years has made me resilient to some things but that part with the daughter telling the relatives what is happened and now her mother. Boh!

Both by a production co called 'The Garden' they specialise in this kind of multi-camera / multi story line thing. This production is bigger than it seems, in any programme you film more footage than makes the edit, but because the constraint was everything was happening on the same day all over the UK they had to film many more complete stories than you'll see. IIRC they had 60 teams or more filming all over the country all for the same 24hrs, but only a fraction of those will be be screened.

My GF filmed one of the stories, but we don't actually know yet if its in the final cut or not yet.

I enjoyed, esp the opening scene where the off duty member of staff compares the guy who'd signed himself out to her own kids. Good on her I say. However, there seemed to be a lot of mentions of costs and finances. Will this become an underlying theme throughout?

I watched it again last night, a great series much like 24hrs in A&E. It doesn't seem too judgemental and just shows what's happening.
I really felt for the dementia guy too, so sad but all too common. 🙁

Yeah I see the consequence of dementia far too much and lost 3 neighbours to it in recent years.
