My lad is a keen f1 fan and he’s been karting a couple of times. He’d love to do more, there is an academy with team sport. Has anyone done it? Any view on what the format for series racing is if he really goes for it?

Team Sport is ok to get a few miles under his belt, but they often put profits ahead of the racing and the equipment can be a bit variable..

I’d do that, see how he gets on, but if you’re getting to the point where he might want to take it a bit more seriously have a look at the Club100 Cadet championship

After that it’s stepping up into owner driver and a very large wallet…

Indoors you can do reasonably cheaply, and it’s good to do over the winter.

If you live close to any of the Daytona locations then have an academy program to get him used to the higher speeds and changeable conditions.

The C100 are ~£200 per race and it’s the fastest/fairest arrive & drive karting in the country.
Various National/European Champions working there who will be on hand to help.
Less than £2k for a season

I race in the senior championships and it’s a very friendly atmosphere
