Had BTB ACL reconstruction and meniscus trim 2 days ago and pleasantly surprised how mobile i am. Swollen, bloody and painful (between doses), but weight-bearing straight out the hospital and hobbling about ok. Physio reckons 6 months for full recovery if i work hard enough so i'm aiming for that. Plenty to keep me busy including late 2015 race planning, Whistler trip and new bike build. Hopefully back out on the trails by spring time. 😉

@aa so you broke / damaged yours on the mtb ?

@p7 that's the full reconstruction (hamstring segment put into knee) plus some meniscus work. I think the French employers are a bit more flexible. When I was doing my rehab in Paris last year (no surgery just rehab) there was a guy who'd been off two months doing physio 5 days a week. All these sorts of stories out me off having a reconstruction

acl and pcl in different legs around 25 to 30 years ago.had carbon fibre ligaments put in. one of the grafts was not good so was done again with part of the hamstring i think.
have played competetive squash for around 15 years an mountain bikes for around 10 years with a fair few arthroscopys thrown in over the years to keep me moving.had tkr 3 months ago on right knee and having tkr on left knee in around 6 months. I am going back to work after christmas for a few months which may be fun as my job is industrial roofer. Think i might have to find a new trade sooner or later 😥

Yep went over the bars at speed at Bike Park Wales, knee was locked due to cartage damage so that was done in march and while looking around they found the snapped acl, was offered op in july but it would have ruined my holiday so it was done in september. Only 3 weeks off work. I was told my knee would last better if I bad the acl done.
